Are American Mastiffs okay for allergy sufferers?
I love the American Mastiff and would like to get one in another 3-5 years (once my kids get a little bigger). We have a big enough house and yard and enough time to fully devote to a dog of this size & temperment. My only concern is how much dander they produce. I do have mild allergies to pets, smoke, pollen, dust . . . well, just about everything airborne! I keep hearing that ‘single coat’ dogs are good for allergy sufferers – but I don’t know what that means. Does anyone know if an American Mastiff is good or bad for allergy sufferers?
There is such a thing as an American Mastiff. it is a cross – 1/8 Anatolian Shepherd and the rest English Mastiff. So hopefully people will know what it is now. Obviously you did when you wrote the question.
Heads up though – I have an English Mastiff and even though he is on a great food ( Timberwolf) he still sheds a lot and we are constantly on hair patrol. We do everything right with grooming and bathing and there is still fur to contend with. I dont know how bad your allergy is but keep in mind that with a mastiff of any kind you have MORE fur because there is more square footage of dog, PERIOD.
That being said, I run a mastiff group and they are the greatest dogs. Fantastic breed and from what I hear, American Mastiffs are too but without the drool factor so this is a plus for some!

adding: thumbs down, eh? Please for those of you who dont think there is such a dog – just look it up. It doesnt take much to google the name for goodness sake. Just because it isnt recognized by the many acronyms doesnt mean it doesnt exist. And it exists to eliminate the drool issue not to be a fashion accessory or be cuter in some way. I have met at least three people with an American Mastiff.

The meaning of the verse:
It is said that this verse was revealed about Bilal, the muezzin of the Prophet.
The muezzin is the one who calls to prayers.
The call to prayer occurs five times a day.
Bilal was a black man; his faith was very strong and the Prophet Mohammad liked him very much and gave him the opportunity and the honor to be the muezzin of the Prophet.
When Bilal gave the call to prayer in Mecca after its conquest, a group of men said: “Did Allah and His Messenger not find anyone to call to prayer except this raven”.
In response, Allah said: (O mankind! We have created you male and female) from Adam and Eve, (and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! The noblest of you) in the Hereafter, (in the sight of Allah) on the Day of Judgment, (is the best in conduct) in the life of the world; which in this case is Bilal.
Lo! Allah is Knower of your status and lineage, He is the Aware of your works and standing in His sight; Aware, of your inner thoughts.
This was the message that the Quran wants the mankind and the nation to know and to hear.
This verse was the Key-stone that banned racism, color discrimination and any other form of discrimination.
Once Verse 49:13 has been revealed, All Muslims banned any other form of human discrimination.

Why does some places use eternal fire that burns forever?
In speaking about Babylon it says:
Isaiah 34: 9 and the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch and the dust thereof into brimstone. and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
10 I shall not be quenched night nor day the smoke thereof shall go up forever from generation to generation it shall lie waste none shall pass through it forever and ever.
What is Babylon of old today? it is a pile of rocks, and has never been rebuild like the scripture said, however there is no smoke, burning pitch, or eternal fire. So what did it mean when it said the fire would be there forever and ever?

Some have viewed the mention here of fire and sulfur (“fire and brimstone,” King James Version) as a proof of the existence of a hellfire. But a brief look at a similar prophecy shows the real import of these words in this context

Was Edom hurled into some mythical hellfire to burn forever? Of course not. Rather, the nation completely disappeared from the world scene as if she had been totally consumed with fire and sulfur. The final result of the punishment was not everlasting torment but “emptiness . . . wasteness . . . nothing.” (Isaiah 34:11, 12) The smoke ‘ascending to time indefinite’ vividly illustrates this. When a house burns down, smoke keeps coming from the ashes for some time after the flames have died down, providing onlookers with evidence that there has been a destructive conflagration. Even today God’s people remember the lesson to be learned from the destruction of Edom. In this way ‘the smoke of her burning’ is still ascending in a symbolic way.
Babylon today is just about I think 58 miles outside of IRAQ. Totally devestated like God fortold never to be inhabited again. Sadam was trying to rebuild her, over the years, but with out success. It was God’s prophecy she would never be rebuilt. Fire designated COMPLETE distruction.
For EDOM, the bituman is the fire, it continually washes up off the shores of the DEAD SEA today.Mineral pitch is highly flammable and, unless kept well supplied with air, gives off great quantities of smoke when burning. Filling Edom’s torrents with pitch and causing the land to become “burning pitch” with smoke ascending to time indefinite would be a fitting picture of devastating destruction. (Isa 34:9, 10) This description also helps to identify the substance, for Edom was near the Dead Sea, and even today bitumen is occasionally washed up on its shores, evidently coming from deposits now covered by the sea.
Therefore, as we consider the rest of this part of Isaiah’s prophecy, we think not only of ancient Edom but also of Christendom: “Her torrents must be changed into pitch, and her dust into sulphur; and her land must become as burning pitch. By night or by day it will not be extinguished; to time indefinite its smoke will keep ascending.” (Isaiah 34:9, 10a) The land of Edom becomes so parched that it is as if the dust were sulfur and the torrent valleys were filled, not with water, but with pitch. Then these highly combustible substances are set afire!—Compare Revelation 17:16.
Some have viewed the mention of fire, pitch, and sulfur as evidence of the existence of a burning hell. But Edom is not hurled into some mythical hellfire to burn forever. Rather, it is destroyed, disappearing from the world scene as if totally consumed with fire and sulfur. As the prophecy goes on to show, the final result is, not everlasting torment, but “emptiness . . . wasteness . . . nothing.” (Isaiah 34:11, 12) The smoke ‘ascending to time indefinite’ vividly illustrates this.
