What are the side effects of smoking “weed” and what happens if you try to stop it?
I’m not a drug user,but i resently found out about a friend and i want her to stop, so i really want to know if there are side effects if she doesnt smoke for some time..is it painful? or not? thank you!
Well smoking cannabis maybe bad but cassie’s answer is wrong. Smoking cannabis or “weed” in a recent study was shown to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. I have also had many patients in which we conducted test and yes the long term user short term memory is shorter than the casual user but when the long term user stopped the short term memory wasn’t as bad. Also what i thought was funny was Cassie’s comment on the musical instruments. Just because you smoke marijuana doesn’t mean you cant play an instrument. I mean look at Jimi Hendrix he was the greatest guitar player that have ever played and your telling me that you “smoke” you have no musical talent.

The trick for some people is to find something to replace this addiction, obviously not another addiction but something creative and fulfilling. Something that makes you happy without an extreme high you may try to latch onto as an alternative.
Marijuana while only a “soft drug” compared to the likes of cocaine, heroin and others can still be a very addictive and destructive drug. Many people who long to quit smoking pot find their lives revolve around marijuana and it becomes a habit that fills any gap in their lives. It can become such an integral part of their lives that they feel like they are living in a haze most of the time and are missing out on some very important parts of life. The first thing to know when learning how to quit smoking weed is that the drug is not chemically addictive!
Bottom line is you DO NOT need weed! You know it and your family knows it. It is time to do something about it…

What are the side effects of smoking weed about twice a month for a 15 year old girl?
I have a friend whose 15 and smokes weed with her friend about twice a month and thats it. What are the pros and cons, and what are side effects?
Also if she does it only once a month and only a little bit, is that bad too?
None, really, not from the weed itself. From your perspective, she’ll just get sort of dumb and silly and boring while she’s high. From hers, it will be as if she’s stepped into a different world. Time will seem to slow down, things will seem beautiful or funny that aren’t (she won’t know they aren’t while she’s high), she may get hungry (the munchies), see vividly minor details that we don’t normally pay attention to — a ray of light, that sort of thing. She may also experience a sensation of detachment, a disembodied sensation, and she may feel relaxed. If she uses too much, she will hallucinate. About the worst that can happen is that she’ll have a bad high and get paranoid. Been there, done that, and it’s pretty miserable! But it doesn’t have lasting effects (except that I’ll never go near it again).
So it’s not the occasional smoking that will hurt her. But there are two risks. One is that she’ll go from smoking occasionally to being a stoner who smokes every day. Pot is addictive for about 15% of the population. That turns some people into couch monkeys who are still living at home when they’re 23. I was reading a post the other day by a kid who was being sucked into it without wanting to, smoking not just once but twice a day, and scared ****less of turning into a stoner and it was one of the saddest things I’ve read. The other thing, and the one that really scares me, is that if she hangs around with stoners she’ll try hard drugs. That isn’t a may, it’s a will — I did, everyone I know did. And from that not everybody returns.
