question about smoking resin?

ok. so i’ve been smoking weed for almost 6 years now & on occasion when i dnt have budds i’ll smoke resin.

just recently my friend scraped her bowl & filled a regular altoids can with resin. she gave me & butt load of it.
we both noticed that no matter how much we smoke, it only gives us a decent buzz from 5 to 10 mins. then goes away.

i’ve never had this happen before.
(plz dnt say its cuz of the weed we smoked out of the pipe. the budds were good)

wut i want to kno is, y would it do this? y isnt it effecting us like it usually would?

ne ideas would be appreciated.
