How does smoking pot while breastfeeding affect your baby?
I want to hear from people who have done it. What differences in your baby did you notice? Are there long term effects?
So many ignorant answers, though I am not surprised.
My baby is NOT a newborn, he is 10 months old and breastfeeding as well as eating healthy natural food.
I am looking for real people who have smoked pot while breastfeeding because the literature online is not sufficient in my opinion for me to make a well rounded, educated decision.

yup… i smoked pot while pregnant… and while breastfeeding my 4 children.
i smoked it and everyone involved was aware of it… my doctors knew, to obgyn knew… the hospital knew… and yup, even the cps people eventually found out… but you know what??? all was good.
my 4 kids are all perfectly normal, healthy and high functioning
i had no fears, no worries, no concerns… and neither did anyone else.
BUT… i would NOT have smoked it if i felt i needed to hide it… and if any of our doctors had concerns i would have stopped.

Okay so I don’t want any judgemental comments on here I will just delete them. For one its my life & decisions and I’m not going into yours & critizing it. So just but out if you have nothing good to say.

So I am 24 weeks pregnant & wanting to breastfeed if possible. I have smoked pot during my pregnancy to help with the morning sickness. I just know soooo many kids that have turned out okay plus I have one friend who their doctor told her to smoke a j a day. I just want to knwo if it will effect my breast milk. I have quit b/c I don’t need it now & wont while I am breastfeeding.
I’m not sure I understand what you are asking because you said in your post that you have quit and you won’t be smoking while you are breastfeeding. Just don’t smoke while you are breastfeeding and if you are worried about it, ask your doctor. You obviously aren’t worried that you smoked pot while you are pregnant, so you shouldn’t be scared to talk to your doctor about it.
