How do you smoke nutmeg?

i have heard of people smoking or getting high off nutmeg. how do you do it? im not going to do it or anything im just wondering.

I did it. I’m not lieing its really nasty.

You wont get anything from smoking it. The chemical apparently responsible to the feeling is Mystercirin (sorry for spelling). It apparently gets destroyed with heat and all Ive gotten from smoking it was a nasty taste and a head ach.

You can eat it though to get high.You need to eat either Whole nutmeg or slightly broken up nutmeg that you can get in like a pepper grinder in chunks the size of peppercorns. It cant or at least most the time, cant be pre ground up stuff. The processing they do on it removes the oil. I can get it at wallmart or the doller store here.

The effects TO ME are similar to the dragged out part of smoking weed, a slight drunken head spin and speech slur and apparently (never tried before), a very small bit of the bombs experience. It takes 9 hours for it to work for me so if I knew i didn’t have anything to do the next day, Ide take it at like 1:00 in the morning and wake up high. It usually last about 16-24 hours. I find its easier to hide than most other stuff. Can be fun when your doing it in numbers.

Dosage is different as tolerance can vary ALOT with this. Start with 15 grams and work towards 30. I wouldn’t go much above 30 though. I might try 45 some time. they say no more than 60 grams so i usually draw a half way point. Also dont do it tootoo often.. apparently leaves a fatty deposit on your liver when you take it like 24/7 in amounts of like 100000 grams (figurative numbers). You wouldn’t do it anyways unless you liked the taste as it takes like a week or so before you can feel the ull effects again after the last time you did it (otherwise you would have to take 2x as much.. yuck.)

Just eat it.Taste bad and it works ;] haha (no infringement please bahahaha) …

PS its taste is apparently maskable with frozen juice.. like after you make it you can like take a mouthful then wash it down with some citrusy drink. It floats and releases taste the more you mix it into stuff so don’t even try hahaha you might not eat or drink whatever it was you mixed it with again! ;]

Appled Pork with Cornmeal Biscuits

Ingredients

1 small Onion, finely chopped
3 cloves Garlic, minced
2 large Tart green apples; peeled, cored and sliced
2 teaspoons Each sugar and dry sage
1/4 teaspoon Each white pepper and nutmeg
2 1/2 pounds Boneless leg of pork or loin, trimmed/cut into 1″ chunks
3 tablespoons All purpose flour
1/2 cup Dry white wine
Cornmeal−yogurt biscuits*
1−1/2 tablespoons Cornstarch
1/3 cup Whipping cream
Salt

Preparation

Ina 3 quart or larger electrtic slow cooker, combine onion, garlic and apples; sprinkle with sugar, sage, white pepper and nutmeg.

Coat pork cubes with flour, then arrange over apple mixture. Pour in wine. Cover and cook at low setting until prok is very tender (7−8+hrs). When the pork is almost done, prepare the Cornmeal−Yogurt biscuits.

While biscuits are baking, mix cornstarch and cream in a small bowl; blend into pork mixture. Increase cooker heat setting to high. Cover and cook until sauce is hot and bubbly (10−15 more minutes). Season to taste with salt. Arrange 6−8 biscuits around edge of pork mixture in cooker.

Serve remaining biscuits in a basket.

Cornmeal−Yogurt biscuts

In a large bowl, stir together 1 1/2 c. all−purpose flour, 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt. Dice 1/3 cup cold butter or margarine; with a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter into flour mixture until mix resembles coarse crumbs.

Add 3/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt; stir just until mixture forms a sticky dough.

Gather dough into a ball and knead gently on a floured board; then roll or pat out about 1/2 inch thick. Using a floured 2 1/2″ cutter, cut dough into 12 rounds.

Place about 1″ apart, on an ungreased baking sheet.

does Nutmeg get you high?

Does nutmeg REALLY get you high? What kind of high? (ie hallucinogenic ect.) If it does then how much should be used? Smoked or still eaten? Is it possible to OD on it? Whats the active chemical?

In large quantities, yes, but it doesn’t sound like a great high, it’s pretty toxic and it takes a long time to kick in. It’s not popular due to major side effects.

“In low doses, nutmeg produces no noticeable physiological or neurological response. Large doses of 60 g (~12 teaspoons) or more are dangerous, potentially inducing convulsions, palpitations, nausea, eventual dehydration, and generalized body pain[1] In amounts of 10-40 g (~4-8 teaspoons) it is a mild to medium hallucinogen, producing visual distortions and a mild euphoria. Nutmeg contains myristicin, a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor.

A test was carried out on the substance that showed that, when ingested in large amounts, nutmeg takes on a similar chemical make-up to MDMA (ecstasy)[citations needed]. However, use of nutmeg as a recreational drug is unpopular due to its unpleasant taste and its side effects, including dizziness, flushes, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, temporary constipation, difficulty in urination, nausea, and panic. A user will not experience a peak until approximately six hours after ingestion, and effects can linger for up to three days afterwards.

A risk in any large-quantity (over 25 g, ~5 teaspoons) ingestion of nutmeg is the onset of ‘nutmeg poisoning’, an acute psychiatric disorder marked by thought disorder, a sense of impending doom/death, and agitation. Some cases have resulted in hospitalization.

Fatal doses in children are significantly lower, with an 8-year-old boy who consumed just two nutmegs to fall into a coma, dying 20-hours later.[2]

Nutmeg is an abortifacient, and as such any significant doses should be avoided by pregnant women.[1] “
