There is a push by anti smoking groups to have the MPAA ratings board take smoking into consideration when rating a movie. A large amount of smoking in a movie could get it an R rating. The MPAA says it’s meant to discourage smoking amongst younger movie viewers. Will this work? Will giving a movie in which smoking is prevalent an R rating prevent teens from smoking? Or will they just continue to sneak into the theaters like they’ve been doing, and continuing to smoke? Is the MPAA attempting to fight a losing battle???
Example…If “Casablanca” was to be remade today, the actor playing Rick would either not be allowed to smoke, or if the director chose to let the actor smoke, he’d risk getting the movie an R rating.

It’s good that you have been raised to keep those sins at bay. But, it’s not up to us to judge anyone else. God does forgive all sin except for not accepting Christ. That’s the unpardonable sin, not accepting his plan of salvation for us. God is the judge of all, and we have to be very careful. It’s too late for me to turn back the clock. What’s done is done. I’ve made my mistakes in the past I’m not proud of, but I’ve learned from all of them. I try to keep others from repeating the mistakes I did. But be careful. Pride comes before a fall. People who belong to very strict christian denominations have a tendency to believe they are better or holier than others, and it’s not so. This is the pride that God speaks about. We all have fallen short of God’s glory in one way or the other. We have to be careful how we deal with others. But do your best like you are now to stay in God’s grace, and you’ll be fine. I’m a christian who has made mistakes, but I am forgiven.
