Does smoking marijuana lessen the effects of Azithromycin?

my friend was diagnosed with chlamydia and he smokes weed. Can he still smoke and also take azithromycin? will smoking lessen it effects to curing the chlamydia. and how long does he have for chlamydia to completely go away?? Thanks.

There are a number of antibiotics used for the treatment of a chlamydia infection. Most antibiotics should not be taken with food, dairy products, anti-acids (like Pepcid or Prilosec) because it will result in the effects of the antibiotics being terminated. Smoking weed is fine if on antibiotics, it won’t affect it. Neither will smoking cigarettes (but those are horrible for your health so just don’t smoke them period). Just make sure no doses are skipped and take it exactly as directed until the medication is completely gone to ensure the treatment is effective.

What are the NEGATIVE effects of smoking marijuana?

I’ve done some mild research and some reputable effects include mental disorders such as schizophrenia, among other things. However, there seems to be a growing evidence of more positive effects such as protective mechanisms against Alzheimer’s and even therapeutic effects of cardiovascular and pulmonary health.

On the other hand, cigarette smoking (a legal substance) causes a 20 fold increase in risk of developing lung cancer.
