What To Expect From Quitting Smoking?
I have this weird question(s). I have quit smoking officially Today at 12:00am on June 23, 2008.
I am 32 years old and I do not want die young from cancer, and many other nasty things.
I smoke when I am angry or nervous. What to do after, because I am scared to death about this. Also, I do not want to be impotent when I get older. Can quitting reverse some of the damage done. Also, the reason I am quitting is that is interfering with me sometimes getting and maintaining a full erection. Can that be reversed?
Also, what changes will my body go through when I kick the habit, not to ask such stupid questions, after smoking for 13 years.
Last, what products should I use to get rid of the tar and other nasty poisons that smoking leaves in the body?

Why Smoking Should Be Outlawed!

I have never been a smoker and never want to be. I do, however, think that it should be mostly illegal. The fact that smoking kills thousands upon thousands upon thousands of smokers a year is really irrelevant because it’s their own choice, no one is forcing them to do it. They knew that if they did this they stood a good chance of an early, most likely painful death. So, they have the right and the freedom to govern their own bodies. HOWEVER, they DO NOT have the right to harm others, and second-hand smoke has been proven to kill. Around 5,000 people, probably more, die every year from second-hand smoke exposure, which is usually a result of lung cancer and heart disease.
No matter how much they argue, smokers do not have the right to harm others. In my opinion, killing someone with second-hand smoke is the same as murder, because the smoker knows that second-hand smoke is highly deadly, and that if they impose it on others, they could very-well die. So these smokers know the probable result of their disrespect for human health and life. Smoking should be not just banned, but illegal in ALL public places. Furthermore, it should be illegal for parents to smoke around and/or expose their children to second-hand smoke, seeing how it harms children even more. One reason I was released from my last job was becuase I could not tolerate second-hand smoke from guests in a public facility. In other words, my employer thought that my health and safety was irrelevant. These kinds of things should stop.
The United States government is one of the biggest dirtbags on the planet. As long as they can make money off of something, it’ll fly. Smoking kills 438,000 people a year? Who cares? We make tons of money off of it. The United States government is by far one of the most immoral sale-outs in the world. It’s not a matter of principal or freedom, it’s a matter of money. Smoking is also terrible on the environment, but does it matter to the government? No, ofcourse not, they make too much money off of it, not to mention that smoking is a great way to control population growth. So the next time the US government tries to play the moral card, remember that they are profiting in someway. Do not honestly be so naive as to think that they are doing it just because it’s right and out of the goodness of their hearts.
I don’t know what smokers have against quitting, I honestly don’t. More than likely, they will live a lot longer, save a heck of a lot of money over time, and show that they care about their Earth and fellow-man and woman instead of being self-centered jerks. I mean, what is so horrible about quitting smoking? I hear Conservatives and Republicans argue all the time, “You should not care what’s good for you, but what’s good for the people and the country.” Well, practice what you preach, friends. Getting rid of smoking is a great way to show how much you care for the people and the country as a whole.

scared to death of going to jail while pregnant?
i just received a VOP (violation of probation) for not completing 200 hrs of community service by october 18th 2008.. (i had 3 yrs) and failing one drug test for smoking pot… i am six months pregnant now and will do anything to not have my baby girl in jail or miss the first months of her life… this is my first vop and i have no idea what to expect or what to do.. my hearing is feb 11th . i was put on probation for criminal trespass and conspiracy to criminal trespass.?? anyone have an idea of what i am looking at or what to do? my PO has no sympathy for me and says if it was up to her i would go to jail.. please help TY
ok i did do 100 hrs i did not find out i was pregnant until end of september therefore only leaving me 18 days to cram the hours…. and no i did not smoke while pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It appears (based on this brief description) that you showed no attempt and made no attempt to meet the requirements of your parol. 3 years to complete 200 hrs… how many hours have you completed? and using while on parole is a direct offence, especially when you knew they would be testing. I may be wrong but I believe you will spend a little time away. Try to make a case as to why you have not completed your parole obligations and set up a plan with concrete deadlines to meet the requirements of your parole. Show the judge remorse, that you have aplan, and stick to the plan, show maturity and responsibility… the judge may have sympothy for you and your situation wether you deserve it or not, but don’t screw up again or there will be no sympathy the next time.
