Assuming the person is in good health. And yes, I understand the dangers of routine smoking. My question is just how risky, if at all, is smoking so little without inhaling. Thank you

Dangers and Health Hazards Associated With Morning- After Pills
Morning after pills are emergency contraceptive pills that have to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse.
These pills work by either inhibiting ovulation or inhibiting fertilization of the egg or preventing the attachment of the fertilized egg to the wall of the uterus.
These pills are about 40 times as strong as regular contraceptive pills and thus, are more likely to cause severe side effects.
Contraceptive pills can cause serious side effects such as blood clots in heart, intestines and lungs.
They are not advisable for women who have diabetes, liver problems, heart disease, and deep vein thrombosis and breast cancer.
The risk further increases with women having smoking habit or history of migraine and cardiovascular diseases.
Other possible side effects include nausea and vomiting, headaches, fluid retention, dizziness, diarrhea, abdominal pain, breast tenderness, irregular bleeding and chest pain.
The common side effects of morning after pills are the same as those of ectopic pregnancy. In such a pregnancy, the embryo gets stuck in the fallopian tubes rather than the womb. Women, who are not under medical supervision, may confuse the abdominal pain and nausea of ectopic pregnancy with the side effects. Moreover, studies have shown that the use of some emergency contraceptive pills increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy.
Use of oral morning after pills is associated with significant weight gain, gall bladder disease, respiratory disorders, high blood pressure, liver tumor, cyst enlargement, visual disturbances, increased risk of ectopic pregnancy and death.
Other than these, adverse or allergic reactions of the body to the pill include skin irritation, an outbreak of rash, and difficulty in breathing and swallowing.
The potential for regular use emergency contraceptive pills also raises concerns about the safety. Emergency contraceptive pills are claimed to be safe as per studies based on their occasional use. The large amounts of hormone per dose aggravate the risk significantly.
Women older than 35 years of age, who either smoke or have a history of heart disease, are not advised to take emergency contraceptive pills.
Over the counter availability of the morning after pills raises serious questions about its misuse by youth:
- The rates of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among youth may increase.
- An increase in the rate of sexual violence may be seen.
- It will expose young girls to serious health risks.
Emergency contraceptive pills have been marketed as “back up” pills. There is concern that this may promote promiscuous behavior and STDs.
Easy access to morning after pills over-the-counter will seriously put a risk to women’s health.

My boyfriend neeeeds to quit smoking, he smokes like more than a pack a day! But! He doesnt have health insurance, and i have great health insurance through my job. There are plenty of complications this could cause for you and your boyfriend…and not just insurance-wise.
Medically speaking, it could be dangerous for your boyfriend to take the prescription written for you. Dosage for many drugs is different based on a person’s gender, weight, and other factors. So, the dosage of Chantix prescribed for “you” may not be the same dosage that would be recommended for your boyfriend.
There are people who should not be prescribed Chantix, based on their medical history. You could give your boyfriend something that would be potentially dangerous for him by pretending the presciption is for you instead. A doctor may not feel that Chantix is appropriate for him…there are many potentially serious side effects, and it would be unsafe for your boyfriend to take it without under the care of a physician.
(Chantix has been linked to behavioral issues, increased risk of suicide, and neuropsychiatric issues in some patients. It is *extremely* important to be under the care and supervision of a physician when taking this drug.)
Those are just the possible medical complications!
As far as insurance goes…
Obviously, you’d be committing insurance fraud, and would be subject to prosecution if caught.
Additionally, there’s always the possibility that you’d have to pay higher health care premiums in the future, if you ever needed to go through medical underwriting to obtain a health insurance policy. (When you apply for insurance, they can check the Medical Information Bureau to get an idea of how expensive you would be to insure. If you look like you use a lot of expensive prescriptions, it could bump you up into a higher premium class.)
This is a very bad idea, just for the medical reasons alone.
