my daughter brought home a work sheet from school on this. im glad their telling them the dangers and the waste of smoking. of course ive always been telling her about it sence she was a little girl, she’s 13 now. thats enough to save towards your childs education when they finish highschool. thats a good insentive to quit smoking, doing it for your children. you would be setting a good example and your kids would be so proud of you.

Everyday Dangers: Keeping Kids Safe with Home Security
Half of the battle in preventing serious or potentially lethal injuries in children is knowing what the most common causes of harm are. Unfortunately, the experts see the exact same scenarios occurring over and over again, and it seems like no one is heeding the warnings. It becomes far too easy to live by the mantra that is “won’t happen to me,” but it is never a good idea to apply this careless philosophy to an unknowing child. Therefore, all parents should be aware when thinking about home security and child safety, that the following are some of the most common causes of injuries in children.
1. Car Accidents. Kids may think the car seat is uncomfortable, or may be travelling in a vehicle which has not been properly child-equipped. Whatever the reason, it is not the lack of restraints but the improper use of them which leads to car accidents consistently being the most common cause of accidental child injury or death.
2. Drowning. One of the biggest threats to home security for children, drowning can be easily prevented by keeping all sources of water away from children unless under 100% adult supervision. Be careful with all water sources, including, pools, showers, baths, ponds, water buckets, toilets, and anywhere else you can think of.
3. Pedestrians. Teach kids about traffic safety, especially if you live in a high-traffic area. Teach kids how to safely cross the street, even if the rule is they are never to cross alone. It´s better safe than sorry should a child decided to cross solo for whatever reason.
4. Falls. This most common cause of child injury can be guarded against by taking home security measures like installing safety rails, and encouraging kids to limit climbing to designated outdoor areas, instead of indoor danger zones like kitchens or bathrooms.
5. Fires. Children will be affected by the dangerous smoke fumes much more quickly than an adult, and should therefore be taught to escape the house at the first sign of a fire. Go over the safety and escape plan regularly with children, and be sure to install a home security system with fire and flood protection.
6. Nursery Furniture. This includes highchairs, grams, cribs and more. Children may find a way to wriggle out and become either lodged or entangled in the furniture, or suffer a fall. Shop for well reviewed children’s furniture and make sure all harnesses are extra secure.
7. Scalds. From extremely hot tap water to tea, coffee, or boiling water on a stove top, curious kids may turn on, or pull hot water on top of them causing severe scalding. Keep hot water out of reach, and consult a plumber right away should the tap water be far too hot.
8. Poisoning. Keep all household medicines, cleaners and chemicals under lock and key. Have a home security device installed with 24/7 customer care to make quick calls for help.
9. Bicycles. Insist that kids wear all proper safety gear, and have strictly enforced rules about where and when they are allowed to ride.
10. Skateboards and In-Line Skates. Using knee pads, wrist guards, elbow guards, and a helmet are the only way to truly protect a child from injury or death while using a skateboard or skates. Teach kids what appropriate attire they should wear, and allow kids to pick out their safety gear themselves. If they think it’s “cool,” they’ll be much more likely to wear it.

Is it legal for me to demand the school let me have my kids?
I have 3 children, I just left my husband and I made the mistake of leaving my kids with him because I had no where to go but a friends sofa. Now my husband is saying that “they are my kids now” and will not let me be alone with them. He has no court order and I am not a danger to the children. He told the school that I might harm them so when I went to the school they said I had to leave or they would call the police. But I just got off the phone with someone from the church and he said that it shouldn’t matter. He told me to call the police if the school doesn’t let me have them and bring my ID and my children’s birth certificates. I’m afraid of getting introuble so I need to know if this is legal and if I will get introuble or arrested if I do this. I have no criminal record and have never so much as smoked pot.
The school can not ban you from the kids and neither can your husband. As a married person with no custody order in place, possession is nine-tenths of the law. You can take them back and he can’t stop you, the cops can’t stop you. But then there is nothing to stop him from taking them back from you. Grab your kids from school and head to your domestic relations court for an emergency custody order, you have a better chance of establishing custody that way. Then he can’t take them back as you take the kids to the school with the court order. Also, the cops can then stop him from taking the kids. Just be sure you’re doing what’s in the best interest of the children.(I answered your previous question)
EDIT: You do not need an attorney to do this, go to the domestic relations court and they will help you; do this immediately but still contact your local bar association and get an appointment with legal aid so you can get an attorney on this.
