Heart Healthy Rubs for Turkey and lean pork?
I am a post heart attack owner of a Weber Smokey Mountain. I would like to continue to eat lean smoked meats such as boneless, skinless turkey breasts and pork tenderloin. Are there any rub recipies available that are low in sodium?
I like to use Pesto sauces – and since I make my own – I can limit or remove the salt used and use low sodium cheeses. Up to you – but I have cooked whole turkey and chicken breast rubbed in my homemade pesto sauce and it came out great…

If I marinade a 2 pound turkey in sherry wine and garlic powder how long will it have to “smoke” before being
done and fully cooked all the way through?
Its half a Turkey breast.
Smoking at about 190ºF will take about 2 hours for that half-breast to be done. Use a meat thermometer to be sure it hits 160ºF at the deepest part.
