When did the government start deciding I should live?
I know this has been going on for a while but when did the government decide that I should live to a ripe old age by forcing safety on everyone.
EX. Motorcycle helmets must be worn in most states. Seatbelt laws. No smoking indoors in several states. When did this all start?
On top of telling me how to live now they simply increase tax on products that are “bad”. Tobacco-Only what helped found this country. The first product of the US.
When did life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness change into long life, limited liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that conforms to societies approval?
Kind of a ranting question but I am curious when this all started.
it has been going on for a long time and it is simply wrong if i die early because i do not follow all the safety rules it was my choice to do so. and my general understanding of the constitution is that it allows government to protect you from me or me from you. but i can not find a place in the constitution where it gives them the power to protect me from myself.

Does a disorderly conduct count as a criminal conviction?
I received a disorderly conduct for smoking less than a gram of pot at the university a year and a half ago.
Now, I am applying for summer jobs and the question on the application asks have you ever been convicted of a crime that has not been expunged, sealed, pardoned, annulled, statutorily eradicated, or dismissed upon condition of probation? The employer then says, “When required by state law, we only inquire about and consider convictions substantially related to the position for which you are applying.”
Then it says, “You should answer no record with respect to any conviction for a marijuana offense if the conviction occurred more than two years prior to the date this application is completed”
If it does show up on my record, will this stupid mistake affect my chances of employment?

I highly doubt it is on your record. What did you plea? What was your sentence? In many states, there are “deals” for first time offenders.
You said it was one “stupid mistake”, so I’m assuming it was the first and only offense – true? D/c is a trumped up charge – usually not in any records, but it all depends on what happened in court.
